Located at the heart of the garden centre, The Gardener’s Retreat is the perfect place to relax and enjoy homemade food in a warm, friendly setting. Whether you’re catching up with friends, spending time with family, or just taking a break, our team are here to make you feel welcome.
We serve seasonal daily specials, using locally sourced produce wherever possible. From hearty breakfasts to light lunches and indulgent afternoon teas, there’s something for everyone. Our expert baker creates homemade cakes fresh in our kitchen – the perfect treat with a cup of tea or coffee!
We offer full table service, with no booking required – except for Afternoon Tea or large groups (please call 01844 690075 with 24 hours notice). We also cater for a wide range of dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. The Gardener’s Retreat team looks forward to welcoming you soon!

Breakfast
Start your day right with our large breakfast menu. Enjoy a full english, eggs benedict, french toast, pancakes and more – the perfect way to fuel your morning!
Monday–Saturday: 9am–11:30am
Sunday: 9:30am–11:30am
Lunch
Choose from freshly made sandwiches, warm ciabattas, or a classic jacket potato. If you’re after something more filling, we have a delicious selection of main meals – just ask our team about today’s daily specials. On Sundays, don’t miss our traditional Sunday roast!
Children are always welcome! Our Little Gardeners Menu offers a selection of smaller portions of our favourites, perfect for little appetites.

Drinks
Nothing beats a satisfying hot drink – we serve an extensive range of teas, coffees made by our expert baristas, refreshing cold drinks, and seasonal specials. Hot drinks can be made your way with milk alternatives.

Cakes & Sweet Treats
There’s always room for cake! Our fantastic homemade cakes and sweet treats are hard to resist, including our famous Brookie and Mars Bar Slice. Plus, we have our cake of the week to try! Served all day.
Afternoon Tea
Indulge in a selection of finely cut, crustless sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and handcrafted sweet treats. Afternoon Tea is available by booking only—please call 01844 690075 with at least 24 hours notice.
