Seasonal Plant Area Assistant/ Delivery Assistant

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hands on Seasonal Plant Area Assistant to join our team and assist with the day to day running of our Plant and Landscaping area. This role will also include helping our drivers deliver a range of products to our customers in the local area.

This is a fixed term position from the 31st March until the 5th September and the hours of work will be an average of 39.5 hours per week including working alternate weekends. 1 to 2 days of the week will be spent assisting the delivery team, the rest of the week and alternate weekends will be assisting the plant team.

 

The main duties of the Plant Area Assistant/ Delivery Assistant role include:

  • Assisting the Planteria and Landscaping Manager with general maintenance which will include watering and weeding plants and sweeping up and tidying the Plant and Landscape area.
  • Delivering excellent customer service to customers
  • Ensuring that plants are well presented and well maintained
  • Assisting with incoming deliveries which will include unloading and checking off stock and merchandising stock in the Plant Area.
  • Providing support to other areas of the business as requested
  • Supporting the delivery team where needed including loading/unloading vehicles and assisting on delivery runs

 

Skills/Experience required for the role:

  • Must be fit and capable of manual work as the role will involve bending and lifting
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Highly organised with high attention to detail
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Happy to do a role which will predominantly involve working outside
